About this site and more…

I am a homeschooling, stay-at-home mom of 3 boys. I never thought that we would be homeschooling but here we are. Even if we have been homeschooling for 10 years now (whaaat?), I still feel new at this. I am blogging our lessons and activities to keep a daily record, journal and review of the things we have accomplished or missed or need to study. It’s not an easy thing to do but I have made my choice, I am sticking to it and I am happy about it. I know I have much to learn still and I welcome any help, assistance, or support from fellow homeschooling families. Β Hey, we might as well join forces. I would really really love a support group here in Paranaque, though. That would be so much fun. πŸ˜€

  2. I am so glad to see this site. I hope you keep updating it. I am unfamiliar with the Moore method, but it seems like something we would like to try. Our family is just beginning homeschooling, and I need to remove a lot of classroom-teacher habits out of my system.

  3. Hi,

I’d like to contact you off-line about an article that I wrote that is posted on your old site (in 2007). I’m fine with you having it there, but I was hoping there would be a way to edit my dd’s name. Could you contact me please? I’m hoping there is a way you can get back to me. Thank you very much!

    • hello! i am soooo sorry for the delay. i’ve been so busy and I haven’t checked this site in ages. I would like to remedy this problem regarding your article. please tell me how I could fix it. if you want me to remove it from my blog, I will respect your decision. thank you for contacting me and again, I apologize for the delay of my reply.

  6. Can homeschooling help with a special needs child?

    • it depends on the learning ability of your child I suppose. for some families, homeschooling works with proper therapy. with my Ethan, we’re doing the best we can with our learning aids and adapting to his learning style. it’s slow and it’s challenging but i feel better knowing Ethan understands his lessons fully rather than just memorizing, the way some students are taught at traditional schools.

  7. Hello!

I saw your blog from the Secular Homeschool forum. I was just wondering if there’s a group of secular homeschoolers who regularly meet here in Manila. Do you know if there’s one and how I can join?

    All the best,
    Rylie

    • Hi! I don’t know if there’s an existing group in Manila for secular homechoolers but I wish there was. I only found pinoy homeschoolers and homeschoolers in the Philippines in FB. πŸ™‚ Where in Manila are you based? We’re in the Pque/Las Pinas side. πŸ™‚ Been hoping for a regular group session in our area but so far, nothing concrete yet.

      Regards,
      Lea

      • Hey, Lea. I’m so happy you replied! I found one more member of secularhomeschool.com who’s from the PH, too! I will reach out to her and see if we can perhaps start a group on Facebook. I’m from the other side of Manila though (Commonwealth, QC). I’m willing to travel and meet you! I’m really determined to learn more about homeschooling my 2-year-old boy. πŸ™‚

      • great! it would be great to have a secular group as well. most of the groups are Christian-centered. I don’t have problems with that, but I want my boys to find that balance. anyway, do keep in touch. my number is 0921-5322754. πŸ™‚

        warm regards,
        Lea
