Nikki’s Linggo ng Wika Costume

It was Nikki’s Linggo ng Wika celebration today.  In case you didn’t know, Linggo ng Wika celebrates and gives importance to the Filipino language through school events and activities like poster-making contests, Filipino dance contests, and all those.  This is usually done in the month of August. So why did Nikki’s school have it today?  Well remember those days of suspended classes?  Well, this is a make-up for one of those days and because of those suspensions, their Linggo ng Wika was moved to today.

Anyway, Nikki was chosen to be the representative for his class for the malikhaing kasuotan (creative costume) contest.  And this is what I made for him: Image

Neat huh?  Doesn’t he look like a tribal chief?  He was so happy with his costume.  Unfortunately, his class didn’t win.  The ones who won had costumes with feathers on it.  Oh well.  At least he had fun.  I mean, just look at his happy expression. 😀
