Color Wheel

IMG_0719edit

Nikki found this activity in his book.  He asked me if we could do it and after checking it out, I agreed.  I modified some of the materials so we could, at the same time, recycle.  So, instead of cardboard we used old CD-Rs, instead of paints, we used scraps of colored paper and glued them to the CDs.  And then we used markers instead of toothpicks to make the “tops” spin.

The result.  The boys were quite delighted with this quick activity. Not only did Nikki enjoy making the color wheels, but Ethan appreciated the “color-mixing”.  He got to see that 2 colors really do mix to make a different color.
